Contact SupportStepCloser works with Apple Health (iOS) and Health Connect (Android).
When you first open the app, you'll be prompted to grant permission. If you skipped this, go to Settings → Privacy & Data in the app to reconnect.
If health integration isn't available, you can still use manual step entry.
No! You can use walking routes and track your steps locally without signing up.
An account is only needed if you want to join step challenges with friends or sync your progress across devices.
We use your current location and step goal to find nearby routes. Routes are generated using OpenStreetMap data and optimized for walking paths, sidewalks, and safe pedestrian areas.
You can choose between loop routes (return to start) or one-way routes.
Route search and map tiles require an internet connection. However, once you start a walk, your step tracking continues to work offline.
Challenge progress will sync automatically when you reconnect.
Routes depend on OpenStreetMap coverage. Some areas may have limited pedestrian path data. Try searching with a slightly lower step goal or expanding your search radius.
You can still track your own walks without a suggested route.
Create or join a challenge with a daily step goal and duration. Everyone in the challenge sees a leaderboard showing who hit their daily goal and total progress.
Your steps sync automatically from Apple Health or Health Connect when you open the app.
After creating a challenge, tap the Share button to get an invite link. Friends can join by opening the link or entering the challenge code.
You can also invite people directly if they've set a share handle in their profile.
Make sure you've granted health permissions and that your health app is recording steps. Pull down on the challenge screen to force a sync.
Steps only count for days within the challenge period. Historical data from before you joined may need a few minutes to sync.
We only collect what's necessary: your email (for account), username (for leaderboards), and aggregate daily step counts (for challenges).
We never access detailed health records, heart rate, sleep data, or your location history. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
Go to Settings → Privacy & Data → Delete Account in the app, or visit our Account Deletion page to request deletion via email.
This permanently removes your account and cloud data. Local data remains on your device until you uninstall.
Challenge participants can only see your username, display name, and aggregate progress (total steps, goals met, streaks). They cannot see your detailed health data, email, location, or route history.
